The Job
We are looking for positive, hard-working support staff, who want to be part of transforming lives, to join our team this summer. Summer at Kellogg is a ten to eleven week program during our most exciting camps. Staff members are needed for a variety of jobs, from adventure programming, lifeguard, kids camp counselors, summer staff mentors, to behind-the-scenes help in the kitchen and housekeeping departments. Our staff shows Christ’s love to hundreds of kids and teens each summer.
SUMMER STAFF INTERNS NEEDED – We hire around 12-16 full summer interns each year. These interns commit to living on the campground for 10+ weeks and receive a weekly stipend, based on experience, for their work as well as room and board provided by the camp. We hire a small number of short term interns, who helped out during larger camps or when other interns need time off. College students can come help out with outdoor schools and work an extra 2-3 weeks by moving to camp in late May.
LIFEGUARDS NEEDED – Kellogg opens its outdoor pool between May and September and is looking for dependable certified lifeguards to join our team. We love having our Lifeguards can come join our intern team and live on the campground for the 10-11 weeks. However, if you live locally and have your own transportation, you are welcome to work hourly and helps us out when our pool is open to guests.
KIDS CAMP COUNSELORS NEEDED – If you love kids and Jesus, we would love you to join our counselor team this summer. We need kids camp counselors from July 13-22, 2023. This is a highly demanding and yet highly rewarding job. Those applying as camp counselors do not have to commit to our 10 week summer work program. Counselors receive a stipend for each camp they serve at (there are two 4-day camps in 2023). Counselors need to be at least 18 years of age and we love it when moms, dads, grandpas and grandmas are able to come join our counseling team. A 16 or 17-year-old might be considered for an assistant counselor position on a case-per-case basis.
SUMMER STAFF MENTORS NEEDED – The mentor lives in the staff house with the summer staff interns for the 10-11 weeks of camps. Ideally, we have a female and male mentor each summer. The mentors lead the summer staff family in problem solving, household management, life skills, and mentorship. The mentors job is to help the summer staff interns be successful in their jobs. They are there are a support and guide. This position comes with lots of flexibility and creativity. The Community
One of the best things about working at Kellogg is the chance to build lasting relationships with each other. We get excited about how God has called the church to be a loving community, and that is our goal for our Summer Staff. We love working hard together, relaxing together, and enjoying the camaraderie that you only find in this kind of setting. Free housing and food are part of the perks of being part of the team. Our summer staff interns and mentors live in dorm-like rooms within a staff house in the middle of camp. Life-long memories are built in our staff house and as part of our team!
